About Kevin O. Johnson

Principal Risk & Compliance Advisor

Kevin O. Johnson brings more than three decades of customer service experience and over 14 years of direct insurance and risk management experience to his role as Principal Risk & Compliance Advisor at Accesspoint Insurance & Risk Advisors. His work is grounded in helping HOA Boards, Condominium Associations, Property Owners, and Businesses better understand their exposures, evaluate their options, and make informed decisions that support long-term protection and stability.

With more than 30 years of customer service experience, Kevin has developed a strong reputation for professionalism, responsiveness, and a client-centered approach. His experience has shaped a practical understanding of the importance of communication, accountability, and consistent service when advising organizations and property owners on complex insurance and risk considerations.

Kevin brings more than 14 years of insurance and risk management experience, providing guidance across a broad range of property types, organizations, and operational environments. His approach goes beyond simply identifying insurance products. He works to understand the underlying risks, potential exposures, and operational considerations that can influence an organization’s insurance and risk management decisions.

Throughout his career, Kevin has served more than 500 clients, helping them navigate insurance planning, risk management, governance considerations, compliance responsibilities, and property-related exposures. His experience working with a diverse range of clients has reinforced the importance of developing recommendations around each organization’s circumstances rather than relying on a one-size-fits-all approach.

Kevin has also advised on more than $1.2 billion in insurable assets, giving him extensive perspective on the importance of protecting valuable properties, organizational resources, and community assets. This experience supports Accesspoint’s broader advisory approach, helping clients evaluate their insurance and risk considerations within the context of their overall operations and responsibilities.

Firsthand Community Leadership Experience

As a former HOA Board President, Kevin brings a perspective that extends beyond insurance placement. He has personally experienced the responsibilities and pressures that come with serving on a community association board, including board governance, financial oversight, vendor relationships, insurance decisions, compliance responsibilities, and day-to-day operational challenges.

This firsthand experience provides an important understanding of what board members face when making decisions on behalf of their communities. Insurance decisions are often made alongside competing financial priorities, maintenance needs, vendor concerns, regulatory requirements, and the responsibility to protect the interests of residents and the association as a whole.

That perspective is an important part of the foundation of Accesspoint’s approach to community association risk. By understanding both the insurance considerations and the practical realities of board leadership, Accesspoint is positioned to provide guidance that is relevant to the broader responsibilities facing HOA and condominium association leaders.

A Broader Risk Perspective

Kevin is a Licensed Insurance Agent, with knowledge of insurance products, coverage structures, and risk transfer strategies. He is also a Licensed Mortgage Broker and Licensed Real Estate Professional, providing additional perspective on property ownership, financing, asset management, and real estate-related risks.

These combined experiences contribute to Accesspoint’s broader advisory philosophy: understanding the client, the property, the organization, and the risks before developing an appropriate insurance strategy. The goal is not simply to place coverage, but to help clients make informed decisions based on their specific circumstances and long-term objectives.

Today, Kevin O. Johnson serves as part of the Accesspoint team, helping communities, property owners, and businesses navigate complex insurance, compliance, and risk management considerations. His experience contributes to Accesspoint’s institutional knowledge and advisory approach, while the firm’s broader resources, processes, and insurance relationships provide the foundation for delivering consistent service to clients.

Accesspoint Insurance & Risk Advisors is committed to helping clients evaluate risk thoughtfully, understand their options clearly, and make decisions that support the protection and stability of the properties, organizations, and communities they serve.
